Highlight is all the hype at the moment! If you watch any Youtube Guru's (keep an eye out for a series of posts on all my faves) you will know about the slaying highlight that you can see from outer space. *cough - NikkieTutorials - cough* - Jaclyn Hill - cough*.
A while back I caved and bought this lovely right here and it's a match made in heaven, well makeup heaven. Spoiler alert - I love this highlighter to bits!!! Worth every penny and let me tell you why.
They say: A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adding buffed-up highlights to cheeks and brows, or and overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face.
Packaging - You have the standard MAC packaging in black, sleek and sturdy. At the top there is a glass cut away that make it easy to identify the product without having to look at the bottom for the name. The only gripe I have is that the bottom part does not have a place you can hook your finger to assist in opening the compact. Their blush range has got that feature and if you are like me and have primer / moisturiser or BB Cream all over your hands, this lovely can be a tough cookie to open.
Application - From the moment you dip your brush, swirl it around to the moment you stare at our gorgeous highlight in the mirror it transports you to a whole new universe. Well at least that is how I feel. The powder is so soft and delicate, it does not add or accentuate to the texture on my skin but rather provide a gorgeous glow. If you dust it on with an extremely light hand, you might get something that resembles natural, but let's face it! Natural glow is for "sussies" you want the martians to be jealous, right!!!
Staying Power - As this is a powder that goes on top of your foundation, it might disappear if you do not set your foundation correctly but otherwise it will shine all day or all night long. I find that the intensity might tone down after some wear but never have I found it to be missing in action, even if you attempt at applying it for a natural look.
Formula - This is a mineralized powder and its soft to the touch and extremely fine milled. There is no glitter in the formula but it is shimmery and shiny in all the good ways. It can highlight all the features you want it to without making you feel uncomfortable. The marble effect in the pan just make it look so much cooler!
Where to find - You can find this lovely at any MAC free standing stores or some Edgars' and Foschini's has got MAC counters at their cosmetic department. You can also order from the MAC online store.
Pricing - If you want to own this lovely you will have to fork out R390 and in my opinion, if you want your highlighter to slay this is worth every cent. It's great quality and the performance is just as good. Once you hold this bae in your hands while glowing you will forget all the worries of the price.
