Haul : September 2016

September was a very good month for me, I found some really good products and I have been having a blast using them. Looking at this picture it makes me so excited to tell you guys what I think of these products. They are super awesome and I think this might be my favorite haul for this whole year. Let me show you what I got

Morphe 12NB Palette

Unfortunately this is not available in South Africa, but you can get this palette from third party sellers, just make sure that you make use of a reputable third party seller. The swatches was extremely pigmented and the colors is gorgeous. This looks like a perfect everyday palette but I am sure one can get creative and pull of a stunning smokey eye or even something like a burgundy cut crease. I am excited to start playing with this palette.

Catrice Sand Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

The lovely Zanele Mondi from in out and around Soweto joined me for #testblock and this was the shadow palette we decided on for the week, I did not have it in my collection and I went out to go and grab it. I am so glad I did, the lighter colors are very close to my own skin tone and like I said in my #instareview the color on the far left and the lightest color is perfect for setting my eye primer and creating a blank canvas. The next color is a perfect brow and inner corner highlight. The orange color is great for in the crease as a transition color. The fourth color you can sweep all over the lid and the last two color are very similar (the one on the far right has got some shimmer in it and that is almost the only diffidence between shade 5 & 6). These shades are perfect for the outer corner, lower lash line and for smoking out the look. The shadows are soft and buttery and do come by to check for a full review.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

I have just heard good things about this product. It is said to be extremely hydrating and nourishing, it also now come in a 30ml bottle. It is a thickish oil that has a pipette. I so need this to regenerate my skin after a brutal winter season. I am hoping that it will even out my skin, hydrate it and get rid of the dead skin cells. I have high hopes for this serum as it comes with quite a high price tag as well.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Sun Defense for Face SPF 50

Everyone needs a good SPF and summer is just around the corner, so this was a very necessary purchase. The eight hour range is very popular and has been loved for years and years. It has a thick consistency and does not really smell like sun screen. You can use this under your foundation and I am hoping that it will not make my skin more oily than it already is. The packaging is so bright and reminds me of a summer's day.

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer

With one of my Elizabeth Arden purchases the sales lady gave me a sample of this primer and I have been lusting over it ever since. It is such a good primer! I enjoy the fact that it is a flesh color and melt into the skin like butter. The packaging is sleek and elegant just like most of the Elizabeth Arden products. My primer collection is growing slowly but I am extremely excited to add this one to it. One thing I can say is that a tin bit goes a very long way.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I got this bronzer for a special project that is planned for early next year, so do stay tuned for that. Benefit Hoola bronzer is a cult classic and can be seen all over YouTube. It can be used as a gorgeous bronzer or in some cases as a contour. Hoola does not smell as nice as my other Benefit boxes but I am sure it will be just as stunning as they are. The Hoola range recently expanded to include other amazing product, check out their website to see it all.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Dainty

This was a re-purchase and I will keep on repurchasing this blush until it gets discontinued. This is a gorgeous blusher names Dainty from Mac. It must have been one of my first MAC purchases and the packaging looked different before, in fact, I think this is my third pan. Right now this might look like a Barbie blusher but I promise you that it is such a beautiful natural pink blusher. Excuse me a minute while I pile on some more.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

I saw this mascara at the till when I was paying the other day and since I have been seeing it all over, I thought I'd pick it up and try it. When I picked this up I did not have a lot of mascaras in my drawer, but all of a sudden there is now quite a few that is in there ready to be put to the test. The wand is curved and the bristles is spaced in such a manner to add length and volume. As this is also relatively budget friendly, I am holding thumbs for it to be great.

What was the items that you picked up this month? Send me a link to your bog post or tell me what you got in the comments below or just let me know what you recommend?

Love ya
Melanie

  3. I have the Lash Sensational and it's my favourite mascara.
I have the Estee Lauder ANR and the Elizabeth Arden primer on my wishlist, so please, let me know how you continue to enjoy them!

I actually tried out that Arden sunscreen and it irritated my skin. I'm not entirely sure why, but I now stick to either Bioderma or Avene sunscreens and have no issues with them.

I actually bought the smaller sized Hoola bronzer from Red Square online as a trial run. I have hit pan and cannot stop reaching for it! Will be repurchasing a full size when it's finished.

    1. Hi again :-)

The mascara is not wowing me at the moment, but I will keep on using it and testing it, hoping for great results.

The Estee Lauder ANR and the primer is awesome! I highly recommend it, keep an eye out for tomorrow's fave post.

I have not really tested the sunscreen, but with summer lurking around the corner I am sure it will be put to good use. I want to try the goodies you mentioned as well, both are from great brands.

Hoola is going to save me this summer, tanning is out of the question for me. I go from pale to lobster stage in only a few moments.

Now to start testing and playing with all these goodies, sooo excited. :-)
