Haul: Colourpop

Hi guys! Coloupop has been on my wishlist for so long and recently they extended their shipping to include South Africa. The whole purchase was spurred on when I laid eyes on the hi-maintenance palette and one Friday night after sitting at home bored to death I took the plunge and dipped my toe into the world of Colourpop. Needless to say I am already planning my next purchase but in this post I will show you all the goodies I got this time round.

This palette was the reason for the whole online purchase. I am not sure if the was FOMO, cause hell knows I do not need more shadows (and keep an eye out on the blog cause more shadows was purchased) or if it was the colors that spoke to me, but when I laid my eyes on this palette I knew I had to get it. It was a good choice :-) On the left you have a gorgeous champaign shimmer shadow followed by another shimmer shadow that is pink to rose gold toned. Then you have two matte colors a cranberry and a deep burgundy. The whole palette work so well together and I am sure that I can create a couple of eye looks with this palette.

I have been seeing these lippies all over the internet and social media since they launched and I have been wanting to try them ever since. They look so cool and I have heard great things about it. The company comes out with new colors and formulas and they frequently have trend editions. Now I found it difficult to choose shades in the lippies online . I am not one for funny colors on my lips, in fact, red is my darling and jam but it also is my limit. I think I chose colors that are very close to each other and I am sure that if there was a store I could go to I might have chosen other colors. Now that does not mean I do not like the colors I got, they still look gorgeous I just need to wrap my head around them. I will do a full review with swatches and everything that comes with that.

Colourpop's lippie stix was what put them out there (together with their shadow formula) I would say. When they just launched every lippie stix would have a matching lip liner. Now they still have some matching lippie stix with matching liners but they also have stand alone colors of both. The slim tube is super easy to use and at the time when they came out, they were something different. Loads of companies have now made similar lippies but all in all, I am looking forward to test the colors and the formula. Maybe skimpy is a bit too light for me, but we will soon find out.

If I was going to try the liquid lipsticks and their lippie stix then I was also obligated to try at least one lip liner. Now to be 100% honest, I have a couple of liners in my collection but I do not show them enough love. This is the one that matches the Lumiere lippie stix and I can see how they would work well together. The only thing I can say right away is that I am a tiny bit disappointed that this is not an automated lip liner, but in the same breath, I think we might be a bit spoilt with that. It's just that the packaging is so pretty, I do not really want to have to spoil it by sharpening this lovely lippie.

Besides all their lippies I also wanted so badly to try one of their cheek highlighters. Now I have some texture on my face where one would typically highlight, so I can not just put anything on my face, some products exaggerate that texture. But this product being a cream to powder I have high hopes for and it's a beautiful soft light gold highlight. I think I will also try to use it as an inner corner highlight or maybe a pop of shine on the centre of the lid.

Lets talk some logistics as Colourpop is not available in South Africa. They have recently started shipping to SA and although I have an Aramex account I wanted to test their shipping. I placed my order on a Friday night extremely late, so for all purpose lets say I placed my order on January 23rd. It was packed and ready for shipping later that week and was shipped out 27th of January. If I was a local I would have received my package within a week which is great service, but being an international client it took longer. On their website and the mail I got when placing my order it said that international shipping takes 7 to 21 days. My package arrived on February 24th and to me that is not bad at all. Everything was package nice and securely with foam sheets to fill the box and every order goes out with a hand written note.

I wil most definitely shop again from them and maybe this time try Aramex. I am thinking of doing a full week of Colourpop and do a full review with swatches of each item as there is 5 different categories in this purchase. Let me know in the comments below if that is something you would want to see and read.

Love ya
Melanie

  1. I love colour pop. I also picked up that highlighter but haven't used it in about 6 months. I think I should whip it out...I remember being obsessed with it. Can't wait to see your reviews on the stuff you bought.

    1. Hi Valencia, the shade is beautiful, but I am not so sure about the formula. I am still testing it and hoping I can find a way to make it work. Do you own any Colourpop goodies?
