Empties : April 2017

Hi guys, I hope you are all doing well. Today I am going to show you all my beauty trash and  then gladly get rid of them. I have been collecting these items as they accumulated and when I could not close the lid of the box properly, I thought it a good time to do an empties post, so here we go!

HAIR STUFF -

Pureology hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner, I got these from Retail Box when they had a huge sale last year. I have enjoyed the combination, especially the conditioner. Its got a minty smell and worked quite well. I have done a full review here.

John Freeda Everlasting Blonde, I have used this deluxe sample size as a pre-wash before I shampooed and condition my hair. It worked fine but nothing worth writing home about.

Schwarzkopf Color Freeze, This is not my favorite and it's been I my cupboard for ever. Currently it is the duo that is living in my shower, but its only there so that I can finish it. I do not think that it is particular bad, its just mediocre for me. It might be that my hair does not suite the specifics that it is meant to deal with.

Good Smelling Stuff -

Mitchum Unscented is the best Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant under the sun. I have been using this since is was in primary school and I believe in it 100%. I do not think I will ever use anything else. It was also featured in my previous empties post and it will be in every other one I do in the future.

DKNY Pure, sadly this perfume has been discontinued otherwise I would have already purchased a huge ass replacement bottle. This smell so clean and fresh but it reminds me of winter in a bottle. When ever I smell this I think powerful but chic, bad-ass but lady-like. I loved it and I'm heartbroken that mine is finished.

SHOWER STUFF -

Avon sensual Mystique hand wash was such a spoil. Usually I only get the shower gel, but Avon ran a promotion once and I got to try this hand soap as well. It smells exactly like the shower gel and I would most probably repurchase. Its also great to give as a gift, paired with some other goodies.

Bubbly Shower Gel from Lush was gifted to me last year for my birthday. Its an uplifting scent of citrus that got me going each morning. Sweeto is a cordial that is sold here in South Africa and this shower gel smells exactly like the naartjie flavor.

FACE MASKS -

Avon Clear Skin Blackhead Clearing was a mask that I bought ages ago and I never really enjoyed using it. It left my skin dry and did not really remove my blackheads. When it started to smell funky I decided it was time to go.

Dirty Works Rose & Glow moisture mask, I think that I should repurchase this mask as it never really got time to shine and it is past the 12 months shelf life. It is said to quench your skin's thirst and make it look healthy again.

Elizabeth Arden Deep Cleansing mask, this mask my mom bought me years and years ago. I believe this is something you have to use on a regular basis to really see a difference in your skin and I did not do that. Now it has a weird smell and texture to it, intact I do not think Elizabeth Arden even remembers having a mask like this. This is how old this mask is and I have been holding onto it for way too long for sentimental reasons....

Avon Deep Pore Cleansing Scrub, oh hell no!!! I did not like this one at all. Not only did it have physical exfoliants but it also left my skin feeling as dry as the Sahara on a cursed day. I will not - never ever - repurchase this mask again.

SHEET MASK -

Essence Pore Control Mask - This mask was not bad at all, I can not remember that I really saw a difference when I used this mask, but I have nothing bad to say about it. Maybe in the future I will pick this up again when there is no masks on my list to try out.

HAIR AND NAIL OILS -

Marula Moisturizing cuticle oil, I got this in a Belle Box and I have mixed feelings about it. The spritzer is not very fine which resulted in the oil getting everywhere. I am also not a fan of the scent but I am in desperate need of some sort of cuticle oil / care. If you have any suggestions, please leave them in the comments below.

Gosh Argan Oil, It was not that I did not enjoy this product as much as that it was just not a good fit. I felt that it only added to my already oily hair instead of nursing it and making it shine. There is a distinctive different between shine cause your hair is healthy and shine cause it is oily

MAKEUP -

MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Light, I will definitely repurchase this item as it did a great job at setting my foundation. I just think that there might be more affordable products out there that does the same job. It lasted quite long and it did not crumble, furthermore it never made my makeup look cakey. One day when my MAC list it too short for my taste I will add this to the purchase list.

MAC Dainty blusher, I showed this in my last empties and after taking the photos I realized that. When you take 6 empty MAC products back to them, you can exchange it for a lipstick. That is why this blusher is still in my empties box. OH and I have already replaced it.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara is the best mascara since mascara was invented!! Not only does it hold a curl the whole day, but it is also very black, does not transfer and the formula is amazing. If I did not have so many mascaras currently open that I am testing, I would have already repurchased this. I highly recommend!

MOISTURISRS -

Placecol Refining shea moisturizer for dry and sensitive skin is a moisturizer that I  have used for years and then I decided it was time to branch out and test the waters. I never finished it and recently decided to clear out some of my products. I think that it a good product, not too runny but not too thick. Its very rich and did a good job.

Elizabeth Arden Ceremide lift & Firm day cream is on my wishlist, I enjoyed both samples I received and I scraped out the last bit that was left. It smells incredible and did wonders for my skin. I highly recommend this as well.

Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+, Wow! is all I can say. I treasured this deluxe sample size like it was my baby. Its thick and rich and full of goodness. Unfortunately the full size is extremely pricey and I do not think I will be able to afford it anytime soon, but I promise you its so worth it.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair - This is magic in a bottle. I have a full size and I use it for everything, mixed with my foundation, as a serum, to get rid of dry patchiness. Literally everything.

Concealers -

I am not even sure which brand the concealer is from on the left. Its too old and all the writing has worn off. Needless to say I got rid of it cause it has expired. It was good but nothing special or worth mentioning that I can remember.

The concealer on the right is one from Avon. I did not enjoy using it, the formula is too dry. It accentuated blemishes and just looked awful under the eyes. I barely used it after I tested it, it just really did not work for me.

These are all the items that was in my beauty trash. I love to watch empties videos on Youtube, to see what products everyone used and what they thought of it. I hope you enjoyed my post.

Love ya
Melanie
