Haul : March 2017

Hi loves, hope you are having an awesome week. Now this post might be a confession, or a therapy session or even a stress relieve but so many stunning goodies were launched end of February and March and I also popped into MAC just to check out a new product and I ended up walking out there with a whole bag full of products. This month was hard on my wallet but my soul rejoices with all the new goodies I have to play with.

African Extracts Rooibos 3-in-1 Facial Wipes in Purifying

In the past facial wipes has not been kind to my skin. I feel that every time I use facial wipes I get dry patches underneath my eyes and on my cheeks. I watched a video or snapchat or an Instagram moment where Carafay used these wipes to take off her makeup and she was wearing  a full face of Estee Lauder Double Wear. I have faith these will be different.

Liptensity Lipstick in Postmodern & Medium Rare

I have swatched these in store so many times and they are extremely pigmented and buttery. The colors in the range are, to say the least, not very neutral. I am not sure if it is cause of the high pigmentation or cause some of the colors are just straight up bold! Since I have picked this up two weeks or so ago I have not swatched them again so guess what I am wearing to work tomorrow.

MAC Cream Color Base in Shell

I am sure that I have mentioned before that I have some texture on my cheek area and unfortunately highlighters are a very delicate topic for me, most just exaggerate my texture. So when the lovely Tatum from Mac suggested I try this, I jumped at the option. I will do a thorough run through of the product and then spill the beans on the blog.

MAC Single Shadows in Wedge, Mulch and All that Glitters

I came across a photo of Mulch on one of my friend's Pinterest account and the picture lead to a video of a lady doing and eye tutorial with it and from there I knew I wanted to put together a natural eye look revolving around Mulch. I am not really sure why because I have so many brown shadows, but it feels that these are so different to the ones I have. Wedge is a perfect crease and transition color, Mulch is a great color to smoke out a look and add some definition and All that Glitters bring the shine and the glow to the look. I am excited to welcome these three ladies to my collection.

Yardley London Stayfast Eyeshade Stick in Royale

Over the Christmas break when I met up with my blogger friend, Marne form Koekelooks, we tested these on our hands and I was extremely impressed. The four colors is not only stunning, but it lasted so long on the back of my hand. There is this purple, then a silver, a gold and a rose gold color. I have been wanting to pick this up since December and although its not newly launched it still excites me to know I am going to incorporate this stunning color into my routine soon.

The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Body Butter

This range launched end of February and I picked up the body butter, the shower gel and the body scrub. I enjoyed the body butters so much, that when The Body Shop had a 3 for 2 sale I jumped on that band wagon and got 3 more body butters. They are a bit on the sweet side, but not like their usual fruity sweet smell.

L'Oreal Pure Clay Masks

Again these have been in my collection since they were launched end of February, and I have been dying to try them, but I first had to take pictures. Haleigh from Hayls World and Kandy Kane has done super cool videos putting these to the test. One is mattifing, the other is detoxing and the last is for glowing skin. They smell gorgeous and I can not wait to try them out.

Smashbox Covershot palette in Matte and Ablaze

These palettes launched on Friday 17-03-2017 and I have been stalking them since I saw them on Youtube Oct / Nov last year. The top of the palette is a hologram of a powder explosion. The pans are smaller than normal single shadows but you get two bigger base color pans and then 6 color shots. The pigmentation seem to be on point and the palette are just gorgeous.

The top palette is called Ablaze and as you can see it is filled with rich copper and red colors. I have looked at a couple of eye looks that has been done on YouTube and it is amazing how everyone's is different.

The second palette is an all matte palette and I can appreciated the matte black shade in there. The first three pops of color is shades of brown and the second 2 pops of color are purples and then black shade.

These are all the goodies I picked up this month and I can not wait to start playing with them. Some of them were in my collection for a while before I could do this post. If you have tried any of these items, let me know in the comments below what you thought of them and if you would like to see a full review of any of them.

Love ya
Melanie

  2. I love the L'Oreal Pure Clay Masks, I bought them at Clicks, during their 3for2 sale. I use them on different parts on my skin.
They are definitely a great dupe for those Glamglow Masks (that I can't afford).
    Nice blog girlšŸ˜œ

    1. Thanks for popping in.

I know, the L'Oreal masks are great, and the whole multitasking concept is brilliant, right?!
I have been lusting over the Glamglow masks forever! Currently considering getting the value pack, where you can try all of them.
Thank you for the compliment and please visit again.

    2. So nice to know that they work!! Each mask retails for almost $18-$20 where I live! So when if I get all three it costs just as much as a glamglow mask haha!

    3. What?!? That is sooo expensive. One day I will have to do a comparison between the two brands. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking?

    1. All three masks are heavily fragranced, not my favorite.
The Smashbox palettes are bit high in price, but they are so worth it!

  5. Can't wait to see swatches of the smashbox palette! They're just a bit pricy though?

I had a sample of the one glam glow mask...was so tempted to get the package with the 20% off at red square this weekend. The struggle is real. I have the L'OrƩal glow mask and it's okay....i used it after the glam glow so I think the bar was set a bit high. Lol.

You dropped quite a bit of cash

    1. I have been waiting for the Smashbox palettes since way back when, I could not choose between the Ablaze and the Matte so they both came home with me. I am wanting that Glam glow set so badly, but I will have to get it at a later stage. Think I must get a second job to uphold my makeup addiction. Believe me, my bank manager is frowing big time... He is NOT impressed. LOL!
